![the motel. : in april 2004 a friend and i stayed in a cheesy motel in san francisco and i documented our surroundings. [you know a motel is super cheap when the bathmat is from a different hotel.] i'd been taking photos of what seemed like the same old thing repeatedly, and was trying for a new subject. towel rods and tacky carpeting garnered my attention for an evening. anything to get out of a rut.
